Breast cancer starts when the cells in the breast begin to grow uncontrollably. Biopsy is the most robust technique to accurately diagnose the presence of malignant carcinomas. The tumor is malignant (cancer) if the cells can grow by penetrating (invading) the surrounding tissues or spreading (metastasis) to distant areas of the body. Our purpose is to develop a novel deep convolutional framework to recognize breast tumor subtypes in microscopic biopsy images. Short Bio: Toribio Rodríguez currently works as an assistant professor at the department of architecture and engineering in computer science career at the Universidad Tecnológica de Santiago (UTESA), República Dominicana. Also, he is Software Engineering Manager in SICCDATA Company in República Dominicana. He received BSc in computer science from Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo (UASD) - Dominican Republic in 2006. He received a Diploma in Advanced Studies and MSc in software engineering from the Universidad Pontificia de Salamanca Campus Madrid (UPSAM) - Spain in 2007 and 2009 respectively. His research interests include computer vision, pattern recognition, machine learning, image processing, texture analysis and deep learning.
