Summary
This talk will first introduce the Czech Technical University in Prague and its Gerstner Laboratory. The latter carries out basic research in distributed artificial intelligence, multiagent systems, data mining and robotics among other fields. The talk will then focus on the current research at the Laboratory of Biocybernetics, which is a part of the Gerstner Laboratory. The main topics are: intelligent processing of biological signals (ECG, EEG, eye movements), multiagent systems in medicine, e-learning. Finally, a technical explanation about the possibility of utilizing a multiagent system as a platform for development of a smart adaptive system in medicine will be given. A knowledge-based model of the agents? mutual awareness (social knowledge) is presented. An architecture for a multiagent system, ADAM, for medical decision support and monitoring is also proposed.
